It was fine. The scooper gave us the price ahead of time based on what we were choosing. We did not experience what had been posted here. It was expensive, but the food was fine.

Avoid this tourist trap and scam.
Don't get me wrong, the gelato is good and I suppose photo worthy, but you can also get this quality of gelato elsewhere in Florence.
I rarely give out bad reviews, but this is the definition of a tourist trap. I recall paying an absurd amount of Europe's for this mega scoop. Was it worth it? No. I spend money on ridiculous things like rare coffee and whatnot, but this is just too much.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS! They make a living by ripping off tourists.
You'll see a list on the wall of a variety of prices. The lowest is 3 euros. Walk up to the counter and an old Italian man points to a mid-sized cup.. we opted for the smallest cup instead, expecting it to be 3 euros. How much does he charge? 6 euros. SIX FREAKIN EUROS for what was by far the crappiest gelato we had all trip. We argue and point at the menu, but then he started yelling at us in Italian and pointing at us and getting all pissy.
I hope this place shuts down.
A couple that went in after us also got the same fate -- they were tricked into getting that mid-sized cup. Two cups of gelato for 20 euros. Yup, TWENTY.

Total scam. Small window with no prices. You get your cone at the front and then have to walk inside to the register. There, one lady rings you out while the other guards the door to prevent escape. 20€ for two cones at a Discount! Because they are typically 15€!!!

Boo. We were too desperate to get gelato since it was hot and just picked the first one we saw without checking Yelp first, agh. The gelato itself is fine and tasty, but the service and price is terrible!!!! The guy behind the counter was not friendly, prices are not posted, and we paid 7 Euro for a small cup with two flavors of gelato. What a rip-off! We have been visiting a least two gelaterias each day we have been in Italy, so this price was way off. Ridiculous. We sat down inside to eat and wondered at the price, that's when I checked Yelp and saw all the terrible reviews. I hope no one else falls prey, this is no way to run a business.
